PracticePoint is WPI’s MedTech R&D, human factor, in-vivo & ex-vivo study and pre-clinical trial testing facility focused on advancing health technology. It supports the design, prototyping, and evaluation of medical devices and systems, from rehabilitative devices to surgical robotics. Its Service Center philosophy allows for open-access use for academics, industry, healthcare professionals, and patients to advance their healthcare innovations. Users have the option to leverage the expertise of faculty, students, and staff in medical robotics, surgical and non-surgical study planning, business and marketing, image-guided therapy, user experience, fMRI, computer science interfaces, analog/mixed signal circuits, computational modeling, and AI in healthcare.

The facility features realistic medical care environments equipped for research including: 3T MRI, fully functional operating room, instrumented living space, state-of-the-art motion capture lab, Neurotech Suite, ICU, NICU and MD Office. Co-located are advanced manufacturing rooms with 3D printing, CNC manufacturing, and electronics assembly/testing.
