POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Business Development will be responsible for market expansion, solution/business development, and customer relationship management (CRM) strategy development, process development, and implementation and execution of strategies and processes. The Director of Business Development will support the Market Expansion, Solution/Business Development & CRM activities of the organization as below:
Oversite and / or Responsibility for:
Business Development (BD) – General (Enterprise)
- Establishing and implement the business development strategy (style and approach) which will characterize the Company's dealings with the marketplace.
- Enterprise Business Development activities, including developing revenue streams through new market development
- Development and maintenance of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and / or process approach
- Develop and manage processes for all phases of the Business Development Life Cycle
- Review and refinement of client proposals / Statements of Work (SOW)
- Development of new opportunities through new customer search and identification
- Development of the value proposition(s) for introduction, presentation and closing of business opportunities
- Support development of new consulting solution products and services as well as expanding our product & service offering, repurposing, or repackaging current products or service offerings to offer additional value to our client base
- Input and support the Code of Ethics / Mission / Vision / Core Values for the enterprise and its subsidiaries
- Manage the yearly, monthly and weekly BD planning, forecasting, performance management & budgeting
Functional Interface Optimization
- Supporting the project on-boarding process
- Supporting margin management by interfacing with Operations and Finance
- Supporting Operations if client issues / concerns arise
Contract Life Cycle Management
- Maintenance of the legal contracts with the Legal Department that interface with Clients, e.g., Statements of Work (SOW), Master Service Agreements (MSA), Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), etc.
- Generation of SOWs in collaboration with the Central Project Management Organization (CPMO) to a state of completion
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related field is required; MBA preferred but not required
- Minimum of 10 years of business development experience in the Regulatory/Quality/Engineering consulting services serving Life Science industry. Marketing experience a plus
- Strong strategic and problem-solving mindset in the Medical Device space with a proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales goals
- Possess a solid understanding of the medical device manufacturing industry: products, players, technologies, and regulations
- Competent in leading and responding to RFI & RFP’s
- Business Acumen - keeping abreast of the Industry/Client market trends and using them in pursuits. Extensive research and assimilation capability
- Budget development & forecasting experience
- Ability and willingness to travel, as needed
- Always maintain professional comportment when communicating and collaborating with both external and internal customers
- Excellent customer facing skills
