Longevity, Technology, and the Future of Medicine

The Berkshire Innovation Center (BIC), in partnership with Hamilton, Brook, Smith, & Reynolds, has announced the next event in their BIC Presents Series.  Longevity, Technology, and the Future of Medicine will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at the Berkshire Innovation Center, 45 Woodlawn Ave, Pittsfield.  Doors will open at 5:00 PM and the panel discussion will begin at 5:45 PM.  The event will also be live streamed via Zoom.

Although aging is inevitable, it is not necessarily, as one might think, an entirely genetically programmed process.   Recent advances in biomedical innovations coupled with anti-aging interventions in health, wellness, mindset, and relationships have moved the goal post of longevity to the possibility of humans living to be centenarians.  “We felt it was important to address this topic as it is something that is top of mind for most people as we grow older,” said Ben Sosne, Executive Director of the Berkshire Innovation Center. 

Giovanna Fessenden, Counsel at Hamilton, Brook, Smith & Reynolds and one of the Moderators for the event is “excited for our panel of visionary experts to share their collective wisdom on longevity and happiness. 

As we age, we often suffer from chronic ailments, such as chronic disease, physical pain, grief, and loss.   Why would one want to be a centenarian and endure chronic suffering?  Can this fate be avoided as we age?  In some cases, yes!  This panel will help us crack the code on longevity and guide us towards cultivating resilience, wellbeing, and hope as we age.

Liponis and Pettus sharing their cutting-edge research on the secrets to achieving ultra-longevity, Maria Sirois, Psy.D. sharing her methodology on finding happiness through authenticity, and CEO of BOOM, AnneAlise Bonistalli, walking us through an integrated approach to sustainable health and fitness through movement and recovery, come to the BIC to be enlightened by this brilliant line-up of experts and be inspired!”

BIC Presents is a free monthly series covering a variety of topics.  Typically held on the last Thursday of each month, the events begin with a networking reception, followed by a presentation or screening, discussion and Q&A.  The evening ends with the opportunity for additional networking.
