Healthcare Delivery - A Business Model in Crisis

Tuesday, November 19, 2019 (5:00 PM - 8:15 PM) (EST)

Description

The cost and availability of healthcare is a central political and economic issue in the US. We have world class technology and centers of excellence. But we also have by far the most expensive healthcare on a per capital basis. The business of healthcare delivery is in crisis. New and disruptive businesses are entering primary and specialty healthcare delivery. Healthcare delivery in the US is gradually moving from an expensive and inefficient physician centric and fee for service business model to a healthcare system centric and value-based care model. Cost controls and revolutionary technology changes are driving providers of healthcare to explore new business models. Hospitals are consolidating and non-hospital firms are entering the market to provide primary care and specialty care. Patient centric, personalized medicine is emerging. Insurance companies, Medicare, and other large purchasers of healthcare will drive the adoption of new business models and competition among healthcare providers. Our program brings together leaders on the forefront of the healthcare delivery business model revolution. They will share their experience and views on the following: - What is driving the healthcare delivery business model revolution? - What healthcare delivery business models will be important in 5 to 10 years? - What companies will be the winners and losers? - What will the business model changes mean for patients?
