Your responsibilities:

The Chemist will assist and support the design, development and testing of department programs defined by the director/manage. This role will also develop laboratory tests to verify hypothesis of new lubricant/grease as well as provide technical guidance on chemistry issues to internal and external customers.  Other essential duties include:

  • Formulate and prepare experimental samples in support of departmental programs
  • Operate and maintain instrumentation
  • Conduct various analytical and physical testing
  • Prepare written reports for internal and external use
  • Prepare written test methods in SharePoint for any new testing developed for analyzing lubricants that would be incorporated in a product specification as a result of working on various projects
  • Must document all testing in a lab notebook and maintain the design notebooks in SharePoint for the various design projects and lab test requests assigned as the project is being worked on
  • Responsible for responding to assigned corrective actions per the CAR system

Qualifications we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, or other relevant discipline
  • Lab experience preferred
  • 2+ years industrial or cooperative experience desirable
  • 3+ years of experience in the field of expertise highly recommended
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs with occasional heavy lifting of raw material containers up to 30 lbs
  • Computer literacy and experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
