MassMEDIC is launching the "MedTech Virtual Town Hall" in part as an alternative to in-person events.

 About this Event Please join us for our third "MedTech Virtual Town Hall".

 The Town Hall is a regular online video conference call open to all MassMEDIC members. These virtual gatherings are intended to keep our members up to date, to share knowledge on current issues impacting healthcare and our industry; and provide a regular opportunity for networking and discussion. This 55-minute interactive video chat will feature expert voices on a range of subjects including regulatory news, HR and remote working, innovation and our industry’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak, as well as break-out sessions of smaller groups. 

The third MedTech Virtual Town Hall will take place on Thursday, April 2nd at 12 pm ET via Zoom and will be accessible via smartphone or laptop. An audio recording of some of the Town Hall calls will be made available to all attendees as well as the attendee list.

About Our Experts Stacy Swider, Director, Director, UMass SBIR Center of Excellence. The UMass Small Business Innovation Research Center of Excellence offers coaching and other support for small companies as they prepare SBIR/STTR proposals and execute their programs. 

We can connect Teams to potential research partners in the UMass system, as well as corporate partners such as Primes and investors.

 Stacy has over 25 years experience in startups and broader industry. She successfully commercialized a novel gamma sensor through the SBIR process - - from initial proposal to pilot production. 

Scott Shorer, President & CEO, GI Dynamics. Scott brings over 20 years of executive experience in the medical device industry, having both founded and helmed numerous public and private companies in the medical device, biologics and healthcare IT space. He served as a president and consultant to numerous boards and CEOs across a wide variety of companies in the medical device, biologics and related markets. He has raised ~ $150m in equity in public and private entities and currently serves on the Advamed Board of Directors and the Advamed Accel Board of Directors.
